Religion itself is a form of neuromarketing. We were sold when we were born. Slaves but don't consider ourself one. Our lives run by few people ( parents, politicians, marketing companies etc) that make all decisions about us without us noticing it. Have fun guys. Let's see how long you guys are able to run this show.

Selling to your brain

I think this is an update of the old TV sublimal advertising that got banned many years ago , that is why 'Logoing'' came into existance , it is a form of brain washing some what akin to writing a list of needs , the act of recording by writing tends to log those needs more deeply in our 'Short time memory '

Selling to your brain

I always thought the politician already knew how to brain wash us with their spin cycle. Spin the words around until you get so confused you don't know what they are saying.

Thankfully we have a "NO SPIN ZONE" we can count on.

I will use my TAX BONUSES to buy your freedom (2nd amendment freedom) by purchasing a firearm at my local sporting goods store. With that I will wholeheartedly defend the rest so we won't have to listen to the spin from Washington.

Selling to your brain

Love the article, but it begs the question - is the role of government really to 'stimulate' the economy... or to manipulate the population in other ways as well? The current Roman Catholic Pope has, partially in this vein, warned against what he called "the seduction of science."

That's defensive nonsense from Rome whose believers are coming to their senses, but still fair and good warning that in this endeavor we push open questions of will and responsibility. Knowing nothing objective about what makes a person tick lets us understand a person more simply in terms of ethics.

We need to know as much as we can, about as much as we can; but, en route we must mindfully seek greater wisdom and understanding, too. Unlike the Pope who feels there are some things human beings should not know, I would never imply knowing less is better. Many have thought philosophy was dead; I suppose it has been overwhelmed by progress, but that fear of our knowledge will drive us back to it.

With people as decision making voters being marketed to by their government, questions of individual will and scientific, calculated bending of will have profound social import. Alan, you're doing a good service in connecting dots to sketch larger problems -- while the dots are still more and the problems still larger.

BG

Selling to your brain

Science without religion can be materialism. Religion without science can be superstition. Both can coexist in perfect balance.
