Signs of Mars life? ... and more

Posted: Wednesday, November 25, 2009 5:42 PM by Alan Boyle

I'm taking Thursday and Friday off for the Thanksgiving holiday (except for covering the shuttle landing, of course). Here are some Web links to see you through the long weekend, including a story that's creating quite a bit of advance buzz. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I know what dark matter is and can prove it.Who can I contact ?
Alan,
The next time you think about the big turkey and dinner with family and friends, instead of saying Cosmic log: “Signs of Mars life?”, and I go to your site only to find out you’re not there, just say, Cosmic log: “Love you folks, see you after the holidays.”
Works for me.
PS. Hope you did have a happy holiday.
You lose all credibility.
Right, Dave, this is the sort of thing that I thought folks should know about ... but because of that Thanksgiving thing, not only am I engaged in family-type stuff, but so are all the folks who can comment on the story. You're right, though, it is a little sneaky to hype it that way. I predict there will be much more about the Mars meteorite next week, and that the skeptical analysis will add another dimension to the claims. But at least a couple of people will have been alerted to the item here. After we have dinner, I'll post a few more links to resources, including a link to the research paper. Happy holiday to you (even though I know Canadians had their Thanksgiving last month) and everyone else. Love you folks.
Jesus made all things , it pleased the Father to make all things Through his Blessed Son and Christ. Amen.
Just ask the Lord Jesus for understanding of all that was made and you WILL receive it.  Just ask the Lord Jesus Christ to help you realize your dreams of Space Travel/Exploration and you WILL Receive it.  God is willing to impart unto you Knowledge, Wisdom and all Things to help you have a full and long and Happy life.  Amen.

[ALAN ADDS: This is followed by quotes from John 1:1-5, Acts 14:15-17, and Hebrews 1:1-14 ... Check out
As Justin Wilson once said "Sit down and unlax youself!"  Enjoy your Holiday and get off the keyboard.  Even finger tips need a day or two off!  Besides, the meteor has been around for umpteen million years, so what's the rush!
Well, about the Acts quote

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=acts%2014:15-17&version=NIV

It was written in the second person?? Someone or something is addressing "men" or people. It looks like it could be a conversation of philosophical importance. But whoever supposedly said that is addressing many in the grammar. (ie MEN)
many
The history of this story is kinda interesting. If one assumes that life came about naturally based on the laws of physics, then it would be natural to assume that if can, has, and will continue to occur in any place in the universe able to support it. From what we know of the history of Mars, it makes more sense for life to have existed there than it does for it to not. It seems from the start that science has been tasked with proving that it is a fossilized example of life, rather than proving that it is not.
